New ‘Republicans for Ukraine’ Ad Launches Ahead of Vote for Speaker of The House

Ad takeover of Fox News—part of a broader $2M campaign—contrasts GOP congressional infighting with the fight for freedom in Ukraine

WASHINGTONOctober 6, 2023 – Today Republicans for Ukraine launched a new ad aimed at persuading Republican members of Congress to vote for a speaker who supports Ukraine. This is part of a broader $2 million persuasion and education campaign to increase Republican support for Ukraine.

The 30-second ad, which you can watch here, contrasts the partisan infighting among House Republicans with the more consequential fighting on the front lines in Ukraine, and insists that “The next Speaker of the House must support Ukraine.”

It will run in the D.C. market on Fox News Sunday this weekend and all day Monday in a Fox News takeover on Fox and Friends, Fox News Live, Cavuto, The Five, The Ingraham Angle, Jesse Watters Primetime, Hannity, and Gutfeld.

The campaign comes at a critical inflection point for the GOP. Following Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s removal from office, support for Ukraine is in jeopardy. Speaker candidate Jim Jordan has said that he will not support Ukraine under any circumstances.

“Large numbers of Republicans both around the country and on Capitol Hill still want to help Ukraine win and Russia lose. We can’t let a minority of Republicans thwart the fight for freedom,” said Gunner Ramer, national spokesman for Republicans for Ukraine. “Pro-Ukraine House Republicans should insist that the next Speaker bring a Ukraine bill to the floor for a vote.”
