New ‘Republicans for Ukraine’ Ad Launches Ahead of Ukraine Aid Vote

Six-figure campaign will air on Fox, MSNBC, and in key states, and features real Republican voters arguing for support to Ukraine

WASHINGTONFebruary 6, 2024 – Today Republicans for Ukraine launched a new, six-figure ad campaign aimed at persuading Senate Republicans to pass the bipartisan deal that would provide aid to Ukraine and border reform. The ad urges members of Congress to support the deal and includes real Republican voters explaining why doing so is in the United States’ national interests.

You can watch the 60-second ad here. In it, one Ohio Republican says, “If we deal in weakness in the face of aggression, it’s a clear signal to countries like China to invade Taiwan.”

“Everyone’s concerned that somehow if we send more weapons [to Ukraine], it’ll start World War III,” says another North Carolina Republican. “I say just the opposite: If we don’t send weapons and check Putin now, we’re going to have World War III.”

The ad will run nationally on MSNBC on Morning Joe and in the D.C. market on Fox News.

In addition, a 30-second testimonial ad from an Iowa Republican will run digitally February 6 – 8 in the states of Republican Senators whose votes are in play: Marco Rubio (FL), Lindsey Graham (SC), John Cornyn (TX), John Thune (SD), John Barrasso (WY), Roger Wicker (MS), Thom Tillis (NC), James Risch (ID), and Kevin Cramer and John Hoeven (ND). You can watch the 30-second ad here.

The campaign comes at a critical inflection point for aid to Ukraine. The GOP has been hesitant to support any bill that would give Biden a legislative win, while Ukraine has been fighting vigilantly with dwindling ammunition. The ads make the case that now is the time for America to rally behind our international allies.

“Anti-Ukraine Republicans have always used the border as an excuse to not support our democratic allies. This bill is proof that we can tackle domestic issues while still standing up to our foreign enemies.” said Gunner Ramer, national spokesman for Republicans for Ukraine. “There’s no reason the GOP should vote against it.”
