“We must help them to continue to see their flag wave over this land.”
“My name is Ronald, I am from Cleveland, Ohio, I’m in Ukraine right now, and I am a Republican. Right now in Ukraine, it’s a very difficult time because of the lack of weapons, ammunition as well. The force of Russia coming through and coming at Ukraine is so much larger than what Ukraine is itself, so they actually have to have this ammunition just to hold themselves where they’re at, we’re not even talking about driving them back, just to hold where they are. They definitely need help right now, no doubt about it.
“America’s always been known to defend our homes, to defend our land, and so that’s what Ukraine is doing. They’re just trying to defend their homes, defend their land, it’s very simple. Putin has already said publicly that he regrets the Soviet Union disbanding and he has made it very clear his goal is to reinstate that. I mean, you’ve already seen in the last week, one of their missiles was in Poland over Polish territory for about a minute, and they seem to have no problem doing these type of things. He wants to just do whatever he can with no consequences, no accountability, and take as much land as he can, because he says he has to have that because he’ll be attacked by Europe or America.
“In 1994 with the Budapest Memorandum, we committed security guarantees to Ukraine. And they were number three or number four in the world with nuclear weapons. They were told if they gave that up that they would be showing a great sign of peace to the world, and then they would also be protected. Ukraine has no way to defend itself, so that’s on us.
“We used to be the ones that were valiant. We stood for right. We stood for those that would protect themselves, that wanted freedom. We say liberty and justice for all, and yet here we stand doing nothing.
“When I see these soldiers, they want our flag, and I always give them a flag. They see us as the example. They see us as the ones that fought for freedom and that got freedom. We must help them to continue to see their flag wave over this land. I mean, how can we not do this? We cannot just stand on the side and let these people die. They just can’t do that. That’s not us.”
